Atlas expedition
This eight-day ski touring expedition connects the Tachedirt Valley with the high mountains of the Toubkal Massif. It combines long mountain days, high passes, summit terrain and ski descents in one continuous journey through the High Atlas.
This is not simply a series of ski days. It is a journey through the mountains.
The expedition begins in the mountain valleys before progressively gaining altitude towards the Toubkal Massif. The route links remote terrain, traditional villages and high mountain passes while allowing the group to experience the Atlas in its winter form.
Depending on snow coverage and mountain conditions, the itinerary can include ski ascents, summit days, traverses and descents on varied snow terrain. The exact route is always adapted to the conditions found in the mountains.
The objective is not to force a predetermined line. The mountain comes first, and the safest and most rewarding route is chosen each day.

From the villages of Tachedirt to the high summits of the Toubkal Massif, this expedition links mountain passes, high-altitude terrain and long winter descents across the High Atlas.

Arrival
Marrakech → Imlil
Arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport and transfer into the High Atlas Mountains. We continue towards Imlil, the traditional gateway to the Toubkal Massif.
After arriving in the village, we meet the team, check the ski equipment and prepare for the first mountain day.

Day 02
Tizi Likemt
Tachedirt → Tizi Likemt
A short transfer takes us towards the Tachedirt area before beginning our first major ski ascent of the expedition.
We climb towards Tizi Likemt at approximately 3,555 m, gaining around 1,200 metres before transitioning into the descent when snow and mountain conditions allow.

Bouignouane
Mount Bouignouane
We leave the village for another high-altitude ski ascent towards Mount Bouignouane, one of the demanding objectives of the Tachedirt stage.
Reaching approximately 3,800 m, the ascent combines sustained climbing, open mountain terrain and expansive views across the surrounding Atlas.

Toubkal Refuge
Imlil → Toubkal Refuge
We return to Imlil before beginning the approach towards the Toubkal Refuge through the Aït Mizane Valley.
Depending on the snowline, part of the approach may be completed on foot before transitioning to touring skis. We arrive at the refuge at around 3,207 mand prepare for the summit attempt.

Summit Day
Mount Toubkal — 4,167 m
An early start takes us towards the summit of Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in Morocco and North Africa.
When snow conditions permit, we climb on touring skis through the upper mountain towards the summit ridge. From 4,167 m, the Atlas opens in every direction.
The descent route is selected according to the snowpack, visibility, terrain and ability of the group.

Day 06
Akioud
Tizi n'Uagane → Akioud
We continue deeper into the high mountains, climbing through the Tizi n'Uagane area and towards the Akioud sector.
Depending on conditions, the route can include steeper terrain and couloir skiing before reaching approximately 4,030 m.
The exact line is always decided on the mountain according to snow stability, weather and group ability.

Day 07
Return
Imlil → Marrakech
After breakfast, we leave the mountains and transfer back towards Marrakech.
The afternoon is free to recover, explore the medina, enjoy Moroccan food or simply relax after several days in the high mountains.

Departure
Marrakech → Airport
After breakfast, your private transfer takes you back to Marrakech Menara Airport according to your flight schedule.
The expedition comes to an end — with the High Atlas, the snow and the next descent hopefully already on your mind.

This is a flexible ski touring expedition. Snow coverage, avalanche conditions, weather, visibility, altitude and the technical ability of the group can influence the exact route and objectives. Technical descents and couloir terrain are undertaken only when conditions are appropriate and the guide considers them suitable.

This is a genuine high-mountain ski touring expedition. The experience is rewarding, but it requires the right preparation, equipment and attitude towards changing mountain conditions.

Ski Touring Experience
You should be comfortable travelling on touring skis and moving efficiently uphill using skins. Experience with ski transitions, kick turns and skiing variable mountain snow is strongly recommended.

Fitness & Endurance
Expect long mountain days, sustained climbing and significant elevation gain. Good cardiovascular fitness and previous experience with full-day mountain activities are important.

High Altitude
The expedition reaches more than 4,000 metres. Altitude affects every person differently, so the itinerary allows time for acclimatisation and the guide will monitor the group throughout the trip.

Mountain Conditions
The mountains decide the route. Snow coverage, avalanche risk, wind, visibility and snow stability can change the plan. Objectives and descents are always selected according to the conditions on the day.

A ski touring expedition is different from a fixed sightseeing itinerary. We come prepared with objectives, but we keep the freedom to adapt.
If conditions are not right for a summit, couloir or descent, we change the objective. The goal is to return safely with a great mountain experience — not to force a route.

Do I need previous ski touring experience?
Yes. This expedition is designed for skiers who already have experience skiing in the mountains and are comfortable with uphill movement using touring skis. You should also be confident skiing variable snow conditions and have a good level of mountain fitness.

The expedition is rated Intermediate, but some objectives can become more technical depending on snow and mountain conditions. Steeper terrain, couloirs or alternative routes are only attempted when conditions are appropriate and the group has the necessary ability.

Snow conditions determine the route. If a planned ski objective is not suitable, we adapt the itinerary to the current mountain conditions. Some sections may be completed on foot, alternative objectives may be selected, or the route may be modified for safety.
