From the mountain village of Aghersioual to the summit of Mount Toubkal, this compact High Atlas journey connects remote Amazigh villages, spectacular valleys and legendary mountain passes before finishing with a full-day summit challenge.
The Route
Four mountain stages.
One unforgettable finish.
The adventure begins in Aghersioual, where the route immediately leaves the ordinary tourist paths and heads into the mountain landscape. From there, the journey links Tachedirt, Oukaïmeden, Talamrout and Imlil before reaching the ultimate objective: Mount Toubkal.
Along the way, you will cross high passes, run through Amazigh villages, follow forest trails and discover some of the most varied landscapes of the High Atlas.
The final stage is dedicated to Mount Toubkal. Starting from Imlil, the route climbs to 4,167 metres before descending back into the valley.

Follow a spectacular route through the High Atlas, connecting mountain villages, high passes and remote valleys before the final ascent of Mount Toubkal.
DAY 01Stage 01 · High Atlas

→ Tachedirt
Transfer from Marrakech to Aghersioual village, where the trail-running adventure begins. Cross Tizi n'Agersioual before descending towards Tinghrine and continuing through Tamguist to Tachedirt.
The first stage offers a gradual introduction to the mountain terrain while the route begins to gain altitude.

Stage 02 · Oukaïmeden
Oukaïmeden
Loop Run
Discover the spectacular Oukaïmeden mountain region on a full loop through high-altitude terrain. Cross Tizi n'Eddi and Tizi n'Oukaïmeden while passing traditional Amazigh villages including Ouaneskra.
Complete the loop before returning to Tachedirt for lunch, recovery and a relaxed evening in the mountains.

DAY 03Stage 03 · Talamrout

→ Imlil
Leave Tachedirt and cross Tizi n'Tamatert before continuing towards Adrar Talamrout. Reach the summit at 2,600 metres before descending through forest trails towards Imlil.
Finish with a scenic running loop around the Imlil Valley before settling into the mountain village.

The defining stage of the challenge. Begin early from Imlil and climb towards Mount Toubkal, reaching 4,167 metres above sea level.
After reaching the highest summit in North Africa, descend all the way back to Imlil.

Daily distances, elevation gain and the exact route may vary depending on weather, trail conditions and mountain conditions. The itinerary may also be adjusted by the mountain team when necessary for safety and the best possible experience.

A few important details help make your High Atlas trail running experience comfortable, enjoyable and well prepared.
Mountain Fitness
This is a multi-day trail running adventure with long mountain days, elevation changes and varied terrain. A good level of fitness and regular trail or mountain running experience will help you enjoy the journey.
Altitude
The route reaches Mount Toubkal at 4,167 metres. Mountain altitude can affect everyone differently, so the itinerary allows time to progressively gain height.
Mountain Terrain
Expect rocky trails, mountain paths, steep sections, high passes and changing surfaces. Some sections may be run while others are more comfortable at a walking pace.
Mountain Conditions
Weather and trail conditions can change quickly in the High Atlas. The final route may be adjusted when necessary to keep the experience safe and enjoyable.
What To Bring
Bring suitable trail-running shoes, comfortable mountain clothing, a lightweight backpack, water capacity, sun protection and warm layers for higher elevations.
