The Saghro MTB Expedition is a genuine mountain bike journey, not a road cycling holiday. Expect remote trails, long climbs, rough surfaces, changing terrain and days spent away from the main tourist routes.
You should be comfortable riding for several hours at a time and climbing on uneven mountain terrain. Previous experience with off-road riding and long-distance mountain biking is strongly recommended.
Expect dirt roads, rocky tracks, mountain paths, loose surfaces, riverbeds and occasional technical sections. Some climbs may require short hike-a-bike sections depending on the route.
The expedition includes several consecutive riding days. Distances, elevation and riding time vary according to the stage, terrain and conditions.
Parts of the route pass through remote valleys and mountain areas where services are limited. The experience is designed around exploration rather than developed cycling infrastructure.
Conditions can change quickly in the mountains. Temperature, wind, rain and trail conditions may affect the route, riding schedule or accommodation arrangements.
Accommodation is part of the adventure. Depending on the stage, stays may include local guesthouses, riads and simple mountain accommodation with a focus on comfort and local hospitality.

A reliable mountain bike suitable for rough, rocky and varied terrain.
Helmet, riding clothing, gloves, hydration and essential personal riding equipment.
A flexible mindset. Mountain routes can change when conditions require a safer or more suitable alternative.
The ability to ride consecutive days and enjoy both demanding climbs and technical descents.
Important: Mountain biking in the Saghro region is conditions-dependent. The final route may be adjusted by the guide when weather, trail conditions, local access or other mountain factors make an alternative route more appropriate.
Djebel Saghro sits between the High Atlas and the Sahara, creating a unique mountain environment. The best conditions depend on temperature, altitude and the specific route planned for your expedition.
Cooler temperatures return to the mountains, making autumn one of the most comfortable periods for long days on the bike and exploration across the Saghro.
Winter can offer excellent riding at lower elevations, but mountain passes and higher sections can become cold or affected by snow and difficult weather.
Spring brings more colour to the valleys and surrounding landscapes. Temperatures are generally favourable for mountain biking, although conditions vary by elevation.
Summer temperatures can become very high, particularly at lower elevations. Riding is therefore less suitable during the hottest part of the season.

For most riders, the cooler months of spring and autumn provide the most comfortable balance between riding temperatures, mountain conditions and long days on the trails.
