01Day 1

Imlil – Tizi n'Mzik – Azzaden Valley – Azib Tamsoult

Meet your local mountain guide in Imlil at 1,740 metres and begin your circular adventure towards the beautiful Azzaden Valley. The trail climbs through traditional Amazigh villages, terraced fields and mountain landscapes before reaching the spectacular Tizi n'Mzik pass.

Descend into the peaceful Azzaden Valley and continue towards Azib Tamsoult, a remote mountain area surrounded by dramatic High Atlas scenery. Depending on conditions and available time, you can also visit the impressive Ighouliden Waterfalls.

02Day 2

Azib Tamsoult – Aguelzim Pass – Toubkal Refuge

Leave Azib Tamsoult and climb towards Tizi n'Aguelzim at approximately 3,560 metres. This spectacular mountain pass is one of the highlights of the Toubkal Round Trek, with increasingly dramatic views across the surrounding peaks and valleys.

After crossing the pass, descend towards the Toubkal Refuge at 3,207 metres. Settle into the refuge and prepare for the early morning ascent of Mount Toubkal the following day.

03Day 3

Mount Toubkal Summit – Imlil – Marrakech

Begin before sunrise for the final and most rewarding stage of the expedition. From the Toubkal Refuge, ascend towards Mount Toubkal at 4,167 metres, following rocky high-altitude terrain towards the summit ridge.

Reach the highest peak in North Africa and take time to enjoy spectacular panoramic views across Morocco's High Atlas Mountains. Descend back to the refuge before continuing through the Mizane Valley to Imlil, where your driver will meet you for the return journey to Marrakech.

The first night is spent around Azib Tamsoult in the beautiful Azzaden Valley, surrounded by rugged peaks, alpine landscapes and the dramatic scenery of Toubkal National Park. Depending on the season and your preferred style of adventure, this can be arranged as a mountain refuge stay or, during suitable summer conditions, a more relaxed camping experience.

The second night is spent at the Toubkal Refuge at 3,207 metres, placing you close to the summit for the following morning's ascent of Mount Toubkal. The refuge provides a practical and social mountain base where trekkers can rest before continuing their journey.

Meals are prepared to keep you energized throughout the trek, with Moroccan-style breakfasts, picnic lunches and nourishing evening meals. Vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice.

The altitude, steep climbs and long walking days make it more demanding than an easy mountain hike. Where does the trek start and finish?

The adventure is organized from Marrakech, with return transport to Imlil at the beginning of the trek. The walking route starts in Imlil and finishes in Imlil after completing the Toubkal summit and descending through the Mizane Valley. From Imlil, your return transfer takes you back to Marrakech.
